Former Indian Women Cricket Coach Tushar Arothe arrested for IPL betting charges

Former Indian Women cricket team coach Tushar Arothe is among nineteen people who have been arrested by Vadodara police for betting during an IPL match which was telecasted on Monday night i.e. 1st April 2019.

The Crime Branch DCP Jaydeepsinh Jadeja said that Arothe was among accused as he is one of the owners of the café where the raid was conducted by the police. Although his involvement in the illegal activity is still under investigation but his presence on the café premises during the raid brought him under radar. All the accused were granted bail on the following day.

 

Tushar Arothe was the head coach of Indian Women’s team which reached finals of World Cup 2017. But he resigned in July 2018 after India’s defeat to Bangladesh in Asia Cup final following reports of discord within the team.
